Someone is Watching You! Be Careful What you Post

I hope you are not one who enjoys attacking others by pointing out their weaknesses or delights in debating the beliefs of others, or just exhibiting a general overall negative attitude. This can be deadly if you are attempting to become a successful internet marketer.

Whether or not you know it, every item you post on the Internet contributes to defining who you seem to be. In fact just about everything you do from posting blogs to commenting on Facebook or tweeting can contribute to how others see you.

If you are someone who tends to encourage others and are generally positive it will impact your image and reputation as a business owner and service provider. This is compounded if you offer insight and advice to others seeking solutions in fields where you have some experience?

Facebook conducted an experiment to test the effect of suppressing or emphasizing positive or negative comments in users’ feeds to test “emotional contagion” It was found that when they reduced the number of positive comments “people produced fewer positive posts and more negative posts; when negative expressions were reduced, the opposite pattern occurred.” (source

It would be good for each of has to pause occasionally to examine the attitude we are expressing in our online activities. Make sure that we are expressing the right attitude to achieve success in our internet marketing business.

We are all capable of having “bad days” occasionally so we should be especially careful on those days of what we post and of the comments we make. Remember, someone is watching.

Merry Christmas And Happy New Year!

I would like to wish you and your loved ones a Merry Christmas. Please take some time to reflect on the meaning of Christmas.

What about Christmas is important to you, not to others? Is it choosing that perfect present for someone special? Is it sharing time with family and loved ones?

Whatever it means to you, slow down for a while. Your business and the everyday events of your daily life are important, but take some time out and enjoy time with family and friends. Enjoy a quiet moment over a cup of coffee or tea or call a friend you haven’t seen for some time. You might even consider sharing your holiday meal with someone who has no one to share with.

However you choose to spend the Holidays, may your dinners be tasty and your family gatherings not drive you crazy. And wherever you are have a great time, and remember to give more than you receive.

Another Look at Content Marketing

I posted a definition of content marketing on the 3rd of October and the other dayI found another interesting definition from the Content Marketing Institute.

I believe that content marketing is the very center of marketing today and should be fully understood if we are to become successful internet marketers.

Content Marketing Institute says:

“Consumers have shut off the traditional world of marketing. They own a DVR to skip television advertising, often ignore magazine advertising, and now have become so adept at online “surfing” that they can take in online information without a care for banners or buttons (making them irrelevant).

Smart marketers understand that traditional marketing is becoming less and less effective by the minute, and that there has to be a better way.”

CMI also provides an exact definition of content marketing. They also state and provide reasons why “Content is the present – and future – of marketing” and that “Marketing is impossible without great content.”

“Thought leaders and marketing experts from around the world, including the likes of Seth Godin and hundreds of the leading thinkers in marketing have concluded that content marketing isn’t just the future, it’s the present.”

Having customers is a basic requirement to become a successful internet marketer. Getting better customers will make you more successful.

I recently read this article by one of my favorites, Charlie Page, where he explains why “better customers” should be your goal.

Here are some of Charlie’s comments on this subject:
